Christmas Jumper Day

Friday 16th December 2016 sees a whole host of celebrities including James Corden, Fleur East, Myleene Klass, Jon Snow, Jack Whitehall and Conor Maynard support the return of Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day

This year, Save the Children’s annual Christmas Jumper Day is taking place on Friday 16th December.

Silliness will be sweeping the nation as schools, homes and offices across the country will be ditching their day-to-day dress for as daft as they dare for Save the Children.

From technicolour festive knits festooned with reindeer antlers, turning up to date night dressed like a figgy pudding and spending hours in front of the mirror trying to balance their baubles,  we’re expecting everyone to take their silliness very seriously this Christmas Jumper Day!

This year, a whole host of celebrities are co-knitted to Christmas Jumper Day. James Corden, Jack Whitehall, Fleur East, Myleene Klass, Jess Wright, Jon Snow, Freddie Flintoff, Jamie Redknapp, Claire Richards, Ashley Jensen, Conor Maynard, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Wretch 32 and Rylan Clark. have all popped on a pullover to mark their support for the campaign.

The best bit is that all this silliness has a serious purpose. By sticking on a daft sweater, signing up and donating £2 to Save the Children (£1 if you’re at school) at, you’ll be saving children’s lives, and helping the charity do whatever it takes to make sure the world’s forgotten children get the chance to have a brighter future.

If your festive sweater from last year just isn’t silly enough, why not head to your nearest Save the Children store where we’re calling out for people to donate their unwanted Christmas jumpers? You could also pick up an even sillier sweater at the same time!

This year, as the headline sponsor of Christmas Jumper Day, Papa John’s will dough-nate™ 50p to Save the Children for every XXL pizza sold, including its limited edition festive pizza. This promotion will run from 21st November 2016 to 2nd January 2017. And to help people get into the woolly spirit Papa John's will be creating giant pizzas made entirely from jumpers in key locations around the country! Dates and locations to follow.

To celebrate Christmas Jumper Day WHSmith will stock two Christmas Jumper Day bears called Benji and Bruno. The bears, who are sporting their very own festive knits, will be sold in WHSmith High Street stores across the UK and online from 3rd October, retailing for £4.99 with £1 being donated to Save the Children for every bear sold.

All money raised through your woolly-wearing could help give a child living in a refugee camp clothes to keep them warm through winter, help us buy nutritious food for their entire family, or set up a safe space to give children the chance to be children again. It could also help us bring essentials like healthcare, education, protection and food to the millions of children around the world who are missing out on the most basic support. All this, just by wearing a daft jumper – it’s a very silly way to solve some very serious problems!

New Study Shows Mums Really Are Better at Buying a Present!

Sorry Dad, Mums Really Are Better! New Study Shows Who Buys the Better Present
A new study, conducted by personalised gifting website,, has shown that the majority of people prefer Christmas gifts from their mothers, and do not like buying for, or receiving, gifts from their fathers.
Over 10% of people enjoy buying for mothers; whilst only 1% of people enjoy buying for their fathers. People would rather buy for their pets (1.40%) than their dads!
It seems that mothers really do know best when it comes to festive buying, with fathers falling short in terms of their present-buying skills, as well as being difficult to buy for.
  • Over 10% of participants look forward to receiving a gift from their mum, and a measly 2% from their dads.
Parents are not the only ones who are setting the bar high. The majority of those asked have put their partners on a pedestal when it comes to Christmas gifts.
  • Over 30% of people asked most look forward to receiving gifts from their partners
  • However, it seems men prefer buying for their partners compared to women. Only 18% of women enjoy buying for their spouses, compared to almost 35% of men.
Unfortunately, fathers are not the only people who have a bad reputation. Results have shown that very few of us enjoy buying, or receiving gifts from our grandparents.
  • The survey revelead that only 0.45% of those asked said that they enjoyed buying or receiving presents from their grandparents.
Christmas is especially magical when you’re at a young age. The idea of Santa Claus paying you a visit followed by smiling faces on Christmas morning are never forgotten. It comes as no surprise then, that buying gifts for children has come out on top during the Christmas season, with almost 40% of the vote.
This survey was taken by I Just Love It, a personalised gifting website with over 4,500 customisable products. The website prides itself on being able to provide the perfect personalised present regardless of the recipient.
Kevin Sears, Ecommerce director at, said: “Christmas should be all about food, friends, family and good times, without the worry of quality or the expense of gifts hanging over our heads.
These survey results show that the meaning of Christmas has somewhat shifted to the importance of present buying. Although this shouldn’t be the case, eliminate the stress of giving an unwanted gift and treat someone to a unique, personalised keepsake they can treasure,” he adds.
Other survey results include:
  • Over 47% of females enjoy buying for children the most, compared to only 30% of males.
  • The mother/father divide strikes again within both genders. Only 11% of women and under 10% of men enjoying giving gifts to their mothers, and a miniscule 1% enjoying giving gifts to their fathers.
  • Of all the people asked, nearly 60% (57.35%) of them had said they have received ‘unwanted’ gifts at Christmas, with over 50% (53.01%) of them choosing to then give them away, and 25% (25.20%) of people choosing to sell them. Over 40% (41.85%) of people are currently buying for 6-10 people, so potentially, of those people, at least half will give their gifts away.
  • Over 40% (44.75%) of those asked said they would spend between £100 - £300 in total on Christmas gifts. That’s nearly 50% less than data acquired in 2015.
  • The Selfie Stick was voted the worst Christmas present to receive at 40% of the overall vote, equally split between both men (38.57%) and women (40.88%).

Roses Only, International Mens Day 19th Novemeber

Real Men love roses too

Celebrate International Men’s Day with Roses Only

[LONDON: 16 November 2016] In celebration of International Men’s Day on 19 November, luxury roses brand Roses Only would love to show you that men from all walks of life love to receive roses too.

International Men’s Day is a celebration of men across the globe.  Roses Only has been gifting roses to men across the globe for more than two decades. On receipt of Roses Only’s signature box, one man shared his delight commenting, ‘I personally have received bouquets a few times, and love it. The fact that she’s thinking of me and took the time and effort to make the arrangements is pretty cool.’

IMG_7249This positive reaction from a man receiving roses is further evidenced in a recent behavioural study conducted at Rutgers University showing that men who receive flowers demonstrate increased social interaction and happiness. The study involved two groups of men, one group who received a surprise gift of flowers and another who did not. The subjects' verbal cues and body language (measures of social interaction) were studied; and men who received flowers demonstrated increased eye contact in conversation, stood in closer proximity to the researchers, and produced more and truer smiles than those men who did not receive flowers.

Echoing this reaction, another satisfied male recipient of Roses Only commented, ‘I have never received roses before until my girlfriend recently gifted me with a box of Roses Only – it was a really special gift and certainly brightened up my day.’

Roses Only sources the most beautiful roses from around the world and prides itself on offering premium quality at affordable prices. You can put your trust in Roses Only to provide the ultimate gift for International Men’s Day, or any occasion, arriving in a beautifully presented Roses Only’s signature recyclable box.

Eaten Mess

I put together some eaten mess for a friend off mine, its easy and simple and dose not take to much time.

needed -
  • Fruit - Strawberry's, raspberries, black currents ect (a frozen bag off mixed fruit is ok too just defrost)
  • Double Cream or whipping Cream
  • meringue nests
  • sunday jug, bowl, ice cream bowl ect
  • mesureing jug or something to whip the cream in
  • raspberry compote
I started by pouring the cream into a measuring jug and used a fork to wisk together took about 15mins for the cream to thicken, I then crushed meringue into the cream and mixed together, then i used a spoon to put heaped spoon fulls of the fruit  into the sunday jug and, then topped with a layer of the cream and meringue mix. I continued to do this in layers sometimes adding the compote to add a nice texture to it. I then topped the sunday with cream and meringue. I then left in the frige for a hr till after dinner.

This Halloween I thought I would dress up, I wasnt really to excited about it, left everything to the last minute, I new i had a corset id bought online, but not tried on, i didn't even have anything for leo to wear either, so at the last min i rushed out and picked up a red cape from Tesco in the sale for just over £1 along with some vampire teeth.

That evening, I arrange too meet with my mate at 5pm , as she had never been and we thought we would do some houses when it wasn't to dark, then head to the pub for some food. I really couldnt be bothered to wash my hair, so i ended up back combing it, and wishing i really hadnt!

I got out my corset from the draw and thought hm.. not sure this is going to fit, being plus size , plus size women know how hard it is to find not only a corset that fits the boobs but also one to go over all the lady lumps. This corset was too small, i stuggled getting it over my boobs, and thought ok, once i get them in it will  be easy. I losed the corset ties as much as I could, and sucked myself in and got it over my head and boobs and manged to get the boobs to stay in place. However my night mear had just started, because what i hadnt realised is how much trouble i would have getting it off later that night. So as i carried on trying to feel sexy, adding my make up, mask and tail to my leggins, i really had no idea of the panic i would suffer later.

I got leo his school trousers and a black top from his draw to team with his red cape. As hes un able to wear face paint, i had to put make up on him, so i started with foundation, added smokey eyes and carried it under his eyes, added some highlighter and white eye shadow to his cheeks and a deep red lipstick on his lips and over his chin to make it look like it was blood. As he get alligies i didnt want to attempt to use the shop bought blood. Leo seemed to love his new look including his teeth!

As we went out that eve, it was apparent right away that not many people where taking part in Halloween this year, there seemed to be less houses to knock on,  fewer people on the streets and overal was a bit disappointing. he managed to get a few sweeties before we all headed to the local pub for some tasty food.

However the highlight of the night, was getting hope and trying to get out off my corset, I had been in it for over 2 hours and realized that it was to tight and i had no clue how i was going to get out, the laces at the back where to tight, i couldn't un tie them, leo didnt get what i was saying, so in the end i am afraid to say that i had to get leo to cut me out! I had also mislay-ed the scissors so the next best thing was wallpaper scissors so we spent the next 35mins cutting the laces at the back to get me out of the damed corset, if that wasnt scary enough i dunno what is!!

Nothe Fort Weymouth Review

Nothe Fort

Nothe Fort is a fort in Weymouth, The fort is located next to Nothe Gardens. The coastal defence was built between 1860 and 1872 by 26 Company of the Royal Engineers to protect Portland's harbour. Shaped like the letter D, the fort's guns covered the approaches to both Portland and Weymouth harbours. The design included bomb proof casemates for cannons arranged around the circular sides, and deep magazines beneath the straight, landward side. The fort played an important role in World War II, when the harbour was used as base by the British and American navies.

My Family and I vising the Nothe fort at the end off may, upon arrival it was unclear where to park having never been there before, we actually ended up parking outside off the nice park. We walked too the fort through the leafy park, which homed a range off animals such as squires and part off the garden showed off weymouths blue sea.

As we made our way into North Fort we paid our entrance fee, My boyfriend got in FREE as he is ex forces, meaning i cost £8 and my 10yr old son £1 . we werent given a map really so where free to just look about.
There where a few levels too expolered and a bunker which seemed like it went for miles underground with little rooms that went off and showed you all about the life ect.

Overall it was a good day out, if your into that sort off thing, for my son and I we found it a little boring but it was nice too see a bit off history. The gardens outside, had a nice play park and areas for a nice picnic which families would enjoy to make the event a nice day.
