cardology Unique Greeting Cards

Kirigami Greetings Cards from Cardology
Send a card that comes alive with the intricate paper engineering techniques

New online boutique, Cardology, specialises in the UK’s finest pop up greetings cards. Gone are the days when a simple one dimensional card was acceptable, to ensure your card stands out on the mantel piece and to send a message with a meaning, Cardology produces stunning three dimensional cards using the intricate Japanese art form of Kirigami and paper engineering. In a fast-paced, digital age, Cardology offers the perfect keepsake card that genuinely connects you to the people you love.

Launched in 2014, Cardology was started by three young, successful friends who in their own fast paced careers noticed that true interactions were falling by the wayside and that our nation’s love for sending and receiving cards was seen as more of a chore than a gesture. The founders believe a card can be given for any occasion which is ever more prevalent in an era where technology is taking over our social communications, a Cardology card is a welcome treat and is cherished as more of a gift. New designs, available to buy online from the 24th June, will include a pop up cake to say happy birthday, a couple kissing to wish them well on their wedding day, a cat or dog for your furry four legged friend, a London taxi to welcome a friend to your city, a rocking horse for a new born baby and a Romeo & Juliet scene to let that someone special know how much you love them.

As our lives change and evolve, new occasions are being celebrated and it was this gap in the market that Cardology knew they could fulfil. Cards to celebrate pet’s birthdays, gay weddings, great friendships and sporting events. Cardology also relishes the patriotic British ways and has designed a number of cards that reflect iconic British architecture, hobbies and industries, including designs of Tower Bridge, London bus and telephone box, golf, rugby, gardening and the great British BBQ, amongst others.

Did you know that more greetings cards are bought per person in the UK than in any other country in the world and that almost £1.29 billion has been spent on single cards in the last year? As a nation we take pleasure in giving and receiving a greetings card, whether it is to say happy birthday, congratulations on the house move, getting engaged, a new baby, happy mothers or father’s day, the list goes on.

Cardology produces their cards using the art form of Pop-Up Paper Engineering and Kirigami, which is a variation of origami (from Japanese "kiru" - to cut, "kami" - paper), the paper is cut rather than folded, as is the case with origami. All Cardology greetings cards are individually laser cut pieces which are then stitched into the card to provide stunning intricate designs.

Cardology greetings cards are available to purchase from and prices start from £4.50

I had never heard of Cardology, before i was sent this PR details,  and they make unique fun cards, that are not too expensive and offer something different, so you wont need to worry about others giving you recipient the same card, as you simply can not buy these anywhere else.

Overall im a fan of the cards, but im not a huge fan on the layout of the website.
