Sam Faiers Bubble Dress With Surf Washing!

I have always been a huge fan of Surf, always picking up Tropical Lily and Ylang Ylang Oil Capsules, So I was over the moon when they contacted me and sent me a bottle of Surf Liquid I have never tried before, which will off course get its own review, so keep a eye out!

However the main reason Surf got in contact was to tell me about this amazing Bubble Dress they had designed and made out of bubbles, for Sam Faiers! - I just wonder if Surf could make one in my size, this will be hitting the catwalk soon!

Sam Faiers lives up to her bubbly nature, modelling a dress made entirely from bubbles!
Dress inspired by new research from laundry brand Surf, which shows how bubbles make us smile

LONDON, 6TH MAY 2014: Sam Faiers is going from reality star to soap star as she models a dress made entirely from bubbles. The fabulous frock made of soap suds had two gorgeous looks – a long red carpet dress and a bright, fun, short design. The unique one-off creation was made by laundry brand Surf to help brighten up the day.

The idea for the dress is inspired by new research[1] which shows that it’s the little things in life that put a spring in the nation’s step. Four million[2] of us agree bubbles raise a smile, with rainbows (48%), open green space (33%) and wearing fresh clothes (13%) also being listed as the little things which make a difference to the day. In response, Surf and Sam have teamed up to celebrate the nation’s evident love of all things bubbly and bright, with the Surf Bubble Dress.

The research also goes on to show that for 33% of people bubbles bring back childhood memories, for 31% they love the way bubbles look and for 13%, bubbles add a little lift to their day.

The Surf Bubble Dress as worn by Sam is made from thousands of foam bubbles, and was designed by celebrity fashion house Studio XO in their fashion laboratory. The dress was three weeks in back-to-back development – ending in a jaw droppingly beautiful design that looks at home on any red carpet. Sam says “The Surf Bubble Dress is such fun to wear and I loved being on the shoot – it was certainly a unique experience, with three women placing tiny bubbles directly onto my skin to create the final, fabulous effect!”

Surf Brand Manager Katy Holder says: “Working with Sam is fantastic – her bubbly nature and fashion prowess in tandem with the nation’s love of bubbles has made for an enjoyable, and slightly cheeky, result. The Surf Bubble Dress is unique and guaranteed to put a smile on your face… I love it!”

Fussel Fine Food and Lesley Waters, Rapeseed Oil

rapeseed-spray-oil_0
Fussels Fine Foods joins forces with the Lesley Waters Cookery School

Award-winning Somerset producer Fussels Fine Foods has teamed up with the Lesley Waters Cookery School to launch the first ever single estate Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Rapeseed Oil in a spray bottle – a store cupboard essential.

Somerset farmer Andy Fussell developed the spray after discussions with Lesley Waters at her Cookery School in rural Dorset.  Lesley’s love of food, which is clean, fresh-tasting and healthy, as well as her commitment to using local ingredients and supporting local producers, meant that this new venture was a natural fit. The oil has just two calories per single spray and is low in saturated fat, so it is a useful addition to the cook’s pantry.

Lesley comments: “Fussels Rapeseed Oil is fantastic for lots of reasons. It’s a very versatile oil in the kitchen, I use it for everything from dressings to mayonnaise, for baking, light frying, roasting, batter puddings, stir frying...the list goes on.

“It was good fun working with Fussels on the spray oil Andy is great and it’s lovely to meet someone so passionate about the work they do. We love the final design and can’t wait to see it on shelf and start using it in the school.”

Andy Fussell started producing his rapeseed oil in 2007 when he set up Fussels Fine Foods. Andy ensures all the goodness and natural flavours of the oil are preserved by cold pressing his rapeseed just once – nothing is added.

Background information…
Andy creates recipes using his Rapeseed Oil with the addition of other locally sourced ingredients.  For example, Fussels’ Cold Pressed Chilli Rapeseed Oil – which won an award for innovation this year – uses 'Deer's Leap' Chillies grown by a neighbouring Somerset Farmer – it is highly recommended drizzled over pizzas and salads, and used in marinades.  Andy has also developed a (local) Beer & Horseradish Sauce, which delivers a real punch and will liven up most things, Garlic Rapeseed Oil, Classic and Mint Mayonnaises - great on hot sausages or lamb chops – and English Herb Dressing, Peppered Watercress and Quince & Cider Dressing.

Cooking With Hotel Chocolat

Hotel Chocolat emailed me and asked me to make something with their cooking range, They let me choose items at too £15, so with all the hype over Chocolate Pasta going on, and the urge to try it, I asked to be sent Cocoa Penne Pasta £5. 50  and Hazelnut and Chocolate Spread £6.50.

The Products arrived very well packaged, and I could not wait to try these out. Having looked online I found people where not only using this for a desert but also for mains and starters.

I decided to make my own little creation.

Boil up the pasta
Make up some semolina

Melt some Hotel Chocolate Hazelnut and choc spread

Once Done mix it all up together, and serve. My son didn't like the chocolate pasta and neither did I however we have really enjoyed the hazelnut and chocolate spread, and its smooth texture, it is tasty very nice on toast and in sandwich's too.

3 sun creams Fail to Meet British Standard tests!

A sun protection test carried out by consumer watchdog Which? has revealed the leading sun cream brands that have failed to meet two separate British Standards tests.

The sun creams manufactured by Piz Buin, Malibu and Hawaiian Tropic that claim to offer a sun protection factor of 30 were found to only have an SPF of 25. Which? has since labelled the creams 'don't buys'.

With temperatures hotting up across the country, it's a key time for many families to be slathering on the sun cream. And with so many brands to choose from - some costing upwards of £11 - it would be easy to think that going for a well-known brand in a higher price range would guarantee the best sun protection for your family.

But Piz Buin Ultra Light Dry Touch Sun Fluid SPF30, £11.30 per 100ml, was among those which failed, as well as Malibu Protective Lotion SPF30 200ml and Hawaiian Tropic Satin Protection SPF 30.

The products that consumer watch dog Which? labelled 'don't buys' in their recent testing

Surprisingly the cheapest product they tested, Calypso Sun Lotion SPF30 250ml, passed both British Standard tests - priced at just £1.20 per 100ml.
Executive Director for Which? Richard Lloyd told Sky News 'Consumers will be rightly worried that products of this kind that are meant to protect you from sunburn, with thousands and thousands of cases of people now getting skin cancer... aren't living up to the very strict British standards that we tested them against.

'The manufacturers now need to reassure the public that their products are good to use and in the meantime we recommend to people that they don't buy these three products.'

Calypso Sun Lotion SPF 30 was the cheapest sun cream to pass the consumer watch dog's tests, priced at £1.20 per 100ml (£2.99 for 250ml bottle from Home Bargains)

Which? released a table of all the products they tested and the results of which failed the spf test, which failed the UVA test, and which failed both:

A statement released from Piz Buin explains that they have followed all the correct standards when it comes to testing their sun creams.

'Our products are subject to rigorous safety and efficacy testing; in the
case of sun care products, this includes SPF testing in line with the EU
sun care recommendation. Consumers can be confident that PIZ BUIN®
Ultra Light Dry Touch Sun Fluid SPF 30 provides effective sun protection
at SPF 30, when used as directed.'

What spf do I need?

You need to go for a sun cream with an spf of 15 or higher - the higher the better. Broad-spectrum sunscreens, which protect against UVA and UVB rays, are recommended.

How long does sun cream last?

Remember that sun cream has a shelf life and expires after two to three years

What's the difference between spf and star ratings?

Spf measure the amount of UVB the cream gives you, while UVA protection is measured with a star rating, going from 0 to 5 stars. As with spf, the higher the number of stars the higher the protection.

Does sun cream mean I can stay in the sun all day?

You shouldn't spend any longer in the sun with cream than you would without, if you can help it, it's just for when sun is unavoidable. Try to seek shade between 11am and 3pm, when the sun is its strongest.

Do I need to reapply my suncream? Even if it's waterproof?

Yes, even waterproof sun cream needs to be reapplied regularly. Most products stay on your skin for a couple of hours and after that, you should reapply. Always reapply immediately after being in the water.

Im a Morrisons Mum - See my tasty goodies!

Just before the bank holiday weekend Britmums, joined up with Morrisons to offer bloggers £80 worth of vouchers, to do a shop in Morrisons over the bank holiday weekend!

Obviously i jumped at the chance, seeing as one of the dates was 2nd may, my sisters birthday!

My vouchers arrived a few days before, so I was ready and keen to try out the tasty treats that morrisons have on offer.

There is not one too local to me, as I live in Poole, but luckily there is one in verwood, near where the 3 horses are kept, which means once have helped poo pick, and put the horses out, i can enjoy some time in Morrisons.

Something which I am happy to say, is the Morrisons in verwood is extending, and they are advertising the fact that they are going to offer a cafe and clothing range in store, which means I will have double the fun there once its built, and I can not wait to try out the cafe. - Morrisons if your reading this, and holding a opening please invite me and my mum, to try them out!

I headed into my local Morrisons, which opens to a large fruit and veg section, which offers a large range, at cheap prices. I also like the fact that the reduced items are stocked together, and your able to see whats available. The store then leads on to the bread, which they offer lose bread products at 5 for £1, which is very good.

Everything in store was very easy to find, and I picked up a few bargains along with a birthday cake for my sister.

I picked up a film Tresure buddies too, which if you have children, if they have not seen any of the buddies films then, they will be in for a treat! Its about a bunch of talking dogs who have lots of adventure's.

One of my top yummy must have's from Morrisons is the cheese and pickle pork pies, which are very mouth watering and very filling. They are only £1.59 for a pack of 5 which makes it 31p per pie.

Each pie is well packed and well made.

On my sisters birthday, we enjoyed a day out at the beach with a nice picnic with Morrisons goodies, which worked out about £1 a person with the bread, cheese, salad ect (Pictures to follow)

Morrisons Cut Prices!

we’ve cut the prices on over a thousand of your favourite products. Not temporary reductions or supermarket smoke and mirrors, these are new every day low prices on the things you buy every week. So you’ll notice the difference with every shop.

And although we’re cutting prices, we’re not cutting corners. You can check our pricing at www.Morrisons.com/pricecuts.

You’ll still get award-winning meat and fish, still get trained butchers and bakers, still get the best of fresh on Market Street and still get friendly Morrisons service.

Look out for the yellow markers when you shop in store and online at morrisons.com. If it says I’m cheaper you know it’s staying cheaper.

I really enjoy morrison's and the items they have to offer. I simply can not wait till the new bit gets built on to my local store, and I am able to go in there have a drink and a bite to eat.

Shame there is not anymore local to Poole area.

Thanks again Britmums and Morrisons for making me a #morrisonsmum

Is Your Child's Computer at risk?

Is your child’s computer at risk?
Waterloo Road actress and mum Zoe Lucker warns of the dangers of ‘bogus features’ lurking behind pirate film and TV sites
-          New research reveals that 97% of the most visited illegal film and TV sites contain malware or credit card scams
-          3 in 4 people experienced problems with their device after visiting pirate websites
-          These ‘hidden extras’ which can open the door to cyber criminals

Mum and actress Zoe Lucker is today warning parents of the unwanted and sometimes risky ‘bogus features’ that often come with using pirate websites. A new study which analysed 30 of the most frequently used illegal film and TV sites in the UK found that 90% contained malware and other ‘Potentially Unwanted Programmes’ (PUPs) designed to deceive or defraud unwitting viewers.

The rogue sites are also rife with credit card scams, with over two thirds (67%) of the 30 sites containing credit card fraud.  In total, just one of the 30 pirate sites monitored over a two week period showed no signs of malware or credit card fraud.

The study, carried out for FindAnyFilm.com by leading content and brand protection intelligence analysts Incopro, reveals the extent of malware hidden on pirate sites. Most commonly the malware is disguised behind innocent looking ‘Play’ buttons which viewers unwittingly click on thinking it will play the film or TV show, but which actually trigger the malware or other programmes to start downloading onto the device.

What are ‘bogus features’?
·         Malware and PUPs are broad terms used to describe a variety of nasty computer programmes that can be both difficult and costly to remove and can be used to run cyber scams.
·         The most popular type of malware, found on 10 of the sites studied, installs pop-up ads on people’s devices. These are not just annoying for the user, but are actually part of a scam designed to generate revenue for site owners from click-throughs and can lead to other types of malware being installed.
·         A more dangerous type of malware, found on five of the pirate sites, are known as ‘rootkits’ which fully expose a user’s data to the cyber scammer and allow them to access the device remotely.

New research from ICM, commissioned alongside the website study, revealed just how easy it is to fall victim to such scams.
The five biggest offenders most commonly encountered after accessing film and TV from unofficial sources:
1)      Annoying pop-up ads: Nearly 2 in 5 (39%) experienced pop-up adverts which are difficult to get rid of and can be used to generate revenue from click-throughs as part of an online scam
2)      Viruses: 1 in 3 (32%) downloaded a virus on to their device, often leading to their devices being unusable or having to be fixed
3)      Malware: More than a quarter (28%) accidentally downloaded malware on their device
4)      Stolen data: Almost 1 in 5 (17%) lost personal data or had personal information stolen
5)      Illicit material: 14% were exposed to material such as pornography or violent images

As the research reveals that families are most at risk of the dangers of using pirate websites, actress and mum, Zoe Lucker, is warning parents not to get hoodwinked by unofficial films and TV shows posing as the real deal.

Working with FindAnyFilm.com to raise awareness of the problem, Zoe Lucker commented:  “As a parent I know how much my kids love to watch their favourite films and TV shows online, but I was shocked to find out just how easy it is to put your online safety and security at risk without even knowing. It’s why I’m urging parents to learn how to access film and TV content online safely and legally, and check out the tools and help that are available, such as FindAnyFilm.com.”

Top tips to avoid hidden malware:
·         Start by visiting FindAnyFilm.com  – a one-stop shop where you can find all films, all above board, all in one place.  The website shows films in all formats where they’re available legally.
·         Beware of multiple ‘Play’ or ‘Download’ buttons on a site – they are designed to trick you into potentially downloading unwanted software onto your computer. If you’re uncertain, close the page and head to FindAnyFilm.com or TheContentMap.com to find a verified legal site.
·         Don’t be fooled by well-known brands and logos – pirate sites often use tactics to look like official sites such as incorporating well known payment services, carrying adverts from global big name brands and promoting themselves through social media channels, so look for a website name you know and trust.
·         Update your anti-virus – keep your anti-virus and anti-spyware/adware software up-to-date but be aware that this will not protect you from every threat.
·         Don’t hand over credit card details unless you know the site – Sites may provide a secure (https) connection when asking for your credit card details but can still be a scam site. Only hand them over if you’re certain the site is trustworthy.
