BEAR Salt Campaign and new Cereal - Do you really Know what your child is eating?

Many of us parents feed our children daily, on their favorite cereal, but do we really know, what goes into making them, and are they really the right choice as parents we should be making for our kids?

A new study has shown that the majority of parents are unaware of the salt levels present in their children’s breakfast cereals, with health experts worried they could be easily exceeding recommended salt intake levels on a daily basis. BEAR have just released a brand new cereal with absolutely no salt in it and CASH (Consensus Action on Salt & Health) is backing BEAR and says that lowering salt levels in the diet is crucial to reduce future risk of strokes and heart attacks in later years, however the more pressing concern during childhood is that a high salt intake leads to loss of calcium, therefore thinning bones and putting them at serious risk of developing diseases like osteoporosis.
